    The New England Patriots' backfield is about to get a little more muddled. With injuries sidelining Sammy Morris and Fred Taylor for the past month, it was clear that Laurence Maroney was the team's No. 1 back, with Kevin Faulk pitching in. Last week, Maroney fumbled near the goal line against the Colts and that led to more carries for Faulk. Now it looks as if Morris is ready to return from his Oct. 18 knee injury. Morris participated in a full week of practices for the first time since his injury and said that his recovering knee feels "sore but good." Morris is still not sure if he will be…

    Earlier Friday, Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson that he was still a game-time decision, despite not practicing all week, including Friday. He may still be right. As in, it probably won't be until game time that he is ruled out for Sunday's contest at Oakland. Benson suffered a hip injury last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If Benson is out, Larry Johnson would make his Bengals debut, but Bernard Scott is expected to start against the Raiders, and Brian Leonard will get some touches as well.     Did you all know that the Panthers are the only team that has never defeated the Dolphins? Wow. Perhaps those of you who live in a land where your cable company and the NFL Network can agree upon viewing terms did know that, perhaps heard your announcers talk of this stat. But since I can't stand to "watch" the game on NFL.com (there's no watching, it's like an extended painful halftime where every once in a while you're taken to a brief clip of the game), I ended up bailing on most of the game.     So I'm sitting on my couch one day and I see the SportsCenter highlights, of the now infamous, "Jones-Drew kneel down." The first thing that pops into my head is how intelligent and smart of a football play that was. The next day I applauded Jones-Drew on my sports radio show as someone who is unselfish and exactly what the NFL needs.  But then that ugly word reared its' head to spoil the fun once again. "Fantasy." You all know what it is I'm sure I don't need to explain. Basically because of a game that means nothing, a great play that should be enjoyed is ruined, scrutinized and berated.

    The New Orleans Saints put last week’s top three picks into a bit of jeopardy with an uneasy win over the St. Louis Rams, but the Saints, along with the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings, gave me a clean sweep in Week 10. The Ravens pick seemed a bit dodgy on Monday night with the nil-nil tie at halftime against the Browns, but they eventually got interested enough in the game to score and shut out Cleveland.     Today Andy Reid confirmed what most Eagles’ fans and Westbrook owners suspected, which is the Eagles #1 RB will be out at least three games after suffering a repeat concussion last week against the Chargers.  Westbrook experienced his first concussion on October 26th, courtesy of London Fletcher, Westbrook returned last week at home only to suffer the same fate. Eagles physicians, who showed reasonable restraint three weeks ago withholding Westbrook for two games, will likely err on the side of caution before clearing him for action again this season.
