Sleeper Wide Receivers for 2015 Sleeper picks can make all of the difference between success and failure for your fantasy rosters. The selection of a good sleeper can prove to be a stroke of inspiration and wide receivers are often surprising fantasy owners with wildly unpredictable performances. The modern NFL is becoming more and more about offensive tactics and pass-rich strategies, so your fantasy teams can certainly benefit from some smart WR selections. Today, let’s look at five of the best sleepers you can choose in the WR positions for your fantasy rosters in 2015. Marvin Jones,…

    Eric Jones
    25 Aug 2015 | 12:44 pm
Tight ends have been pretty consistent in recent years, with the same names popping up again and again at the top of the fantasy scoring tables. The stars of the position are Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski, who continue to put up impressive numbers year in and year out, making them some of the most popular picks for fantasy owners each season. However, Graham has now moved to the Seattle Seahawks in a move that could completely change his fantasy output. Graham has the talent to continue performing at the top level with his new squad, but Gronkowski is now the only sure bet for fantasy…

  • Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews could be named starter in Miami

    2 Sep 2015 | 7:31 pm
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Rishard Matthews could be named a starter this season. In the Dolphins' third preseason game, Matthews started ahead of Kenny Stills. Matthews could very well surpass both Stills and Greg Jennings. Matthews has had an excellent summer and has done a complete 180. He went from demanding a trade and being on the roster bubble to saying he's, "glad I'm here for another year" and the competition "definitely has been fair". FANTASY ANALYSIS: It will be interesting to see how the Dolphins' WR corps shakes out one DeVante Parker is at full health. It wouldn't be a…
  • Dolphins TE Dion Sims viewed as a starter by HC Joe Philbin

    2 Sep 2015 | 7:20 pm
Miami Dolphins tight end Dion Sims has quietly developed into a very good player. So good that his head coach Joe Phibin views him as a starter along with Jordan Cameron. There have even been some reports that Sims has been the better of the Dolphins TEs this summer. Sims is very likely to be the lone tight end on rushing downs and will contribute in the passing game as well. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Sims is certainly a guy to keep an eye on. He's a very talented kid. With Cameron's well documented concussion issues, it wouldn't be shocking to see him end up being the lone starter in Miami at some…
  • Giants WR Victor Cruz is 'very much in doubt' for Week 1

    2 Sep 2015 | 6:35 pm
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is "very much in doubt" for Week 1. The injury hindering him is a calf injury. It is not his surgically repaired knee or even the same leg. Still, it could come from overcompensating for the injured knee in training camp. He is questionable at best for the season opener. However, he's trending toward doubtful. FANTASY ANALYSIS: This is why you shouldn't depend on Cruz and he's being drafted way too high. This is going to continue to happen. History tells us, he'll never be the same again. Currently, he's being drafted as the WR34. He's fallen a tiny…
  • There is growing concern Bills RB LeSean McCoy won't be ready Week 1

    2 Sep 2015 | 3:29 pm
Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy may not be ready for the season opener after all. Head coach Rex Ryan has said he's cautiously optimistic, but doubts are beginning to surface. A source told ESPN's Josina Anderson that McCoy isn't close to full speed and there's no way he'll be in football shape by Week 1. Ryan has also expressed some doubts. "Well we certainly expect him to be ready to go, I hope," Ryan said. "If not then the next man has to step up. Boobie [Dixon] got a lot of reps out there today. Bryce Brown got a lot of reps today. So we will see. I am not going to put that all on…

    2 Sep 2015 | 3:45 pm
First of all, my first post on this site. Apologies if a similar thread has already been posted, I spent a little time searching to find one.    My most important league is having a contest where the winners in order get to choose their draft slots, so I'll be in a position to be choosing my draft slot at some point.   My league is a 14 team 0.5 PPR league with pretty solid drafters throughout, how would you rank the different draft slots?   I'm thinking the first couple of spots are the best, but I'm not sure if I'll be in a position to grab those.    Also feel…

    2 Sep 2015 | 10:52 am
Fantasy football success is largely measured by the players you draft and the record they help you accrue, but what fun is that without a team name befitting a champion? Team names didn't used to be viewed as a key part of fantasy football by most, but as clever puns and pop culture references have become the norm in recent years, owners have been forced into a game of "keeping up with the Joneses" in terms of coming up with a quality moniker. Luckily for those who aren't necessarily adept at coming up with witty names themselves, there are tons of options across the Internet. Here is a…

A few surprising veterans or players returning from injury have done the same. With just one round of preseason games remaining, we have a pretty good idea of what teams will look like heading into the year and what roles players will have on those teams.  And that means you should be going into your fantasy football draft confident, prepared and well-versed. Your list of sleepers should be compiled. You should know average draft order of players and where the real…

It's a billion-dollar industry, by any accounting. Fans love it. Websites like Bleacher Report, ESPN, NFL.com and Yahoo give it top billing. New companies offering advice on it emerge seemingly daily. We all know that fantasy football has exploded. But what do those in real football think of it? At first, many were dismissive. But now? Let's face it—old habits die hard in fantasy football. You have been playing for years, and while you have heard some of the experts and talking heads remind you that you don't have to take running backs with your first two picks, you follow that route in 90 percent of the leagues you have played in. It may have been successful in some and caused a struggle in others, but that's your signature. OK, we get it. But we are here to give you options.  Unless you can get your hands on Aaron Rodgers, you know you will not be selecting a quarterback. But you may just want to take a wide…

Brandon Drury will make his major league debut Tuesday against the Rockies. Drury, who was called up Tuesday, will start at third base and bat seventh against left-hander Yohan Flande. The 22-year-old has batted .303/.344/.412 with five homers and 61 RBI over 130 games this season between Double- and Triple-A. The power has fallen off a bit, but he's ready for his first taste of the majors and could be relevant in NL-only fantasy leagues.

In 35 cumulative minor league games across four levels this season, Olivera holds a .272/.326/.376 slash line. Rankings based on standard point system- not PPR. Tier 1: Elites 1  Jamaal Charles 2  Le’Veon Bell 3  Eddie Lacy 4  Adrian Peterson 5  Marshawn Lynch 6  CJ Anderson   Will anyone have 300 rushing attempts this year? There have only been two players in each of the past 2 years to eclipse the mark. Last year, DeMarco Murray and LeSean McCoy were the sole two. Bell very possibly could if he wasn’t suspended for the first two games. Charles will be limited to 250 rushes as always. Peterson and Lynch are too old to be given that type of workload. This leaves two options:…

    2 Sep 2015 | 3:49 pm
In today’s NFL, wide receivers have been scoring early and often. Your league may come down to how you draft and evaluate the WR corps. I use a pretty standard scoring format when it comes to WRs: 1 point per 10 yards receiving (or rushing) and 6 points for all TDs. 2014 was an epic year for wide receivers. Many of them came of age from game one. Others, still have yet to take that step. Will they in 2015? 1. Antonio Brown, Steelers- Not sure there is much disputing this one. Brown has been there and Ben will keep him there–baring injury. 2. Dez Bryant, Cowboys- Dez just got paid,…

There’s a lot of competition out there, especially on these sites with their enormous userbases, and players need to set themselves apart from the crowd if they hope to win big. The best players in the game have reached the top by learning about every aspect of daily fantasy sports. The term “value” is thrown around quite a lot in DFS circles, but casual and inexperienced players in particular struggle to grasp this vital concept. If…
  • Washington Redskins Fantasy Preview for 2015

    Chris Lollis
    27 Aug 2015 | 8:45 am
Washington Redskins Fantasy Projections The Redskins put in some poor performances in 2014, making for a season that Washington fans will hope to put behind them. The team’s development wasn’t helped by a real lack of stability in the signal caller role. Three different quarterbacks started games for the Redskins throughout last season, contributing to a poor regular season record of 4-12. Fantasy fans won’t have seen much value on the Washington roster, but 2015 might hold more hope for the Redskins. Let’s go through the roster and identify some important players to keep an eye on as…
  • Denver Broncos Fantasy Preview for 2015

    Chris Lollis
    26 Aug 2015 | 7:08 am
Our Fantasy Projections for the Denver Broncos in 2015 The Broncos had yet another impressive season in 2014 but failed to make it a memorable one by losing in the divisional playoffs and missing out on a second Super Bowl spot. The team finished 12-4 in the regular season, with older players like Peyton Manning continuing to lead the line while younger stars like C.J. Anderson made a name for themselves on the big stage. The 2014 season could’ve been much greater for a squad with so much talent, so the Broncos will be out to show what they’re really made of in 2015. For fantasy players,…
  • Top 3 Value Tight Ends for 2015

  • 2015 Fantasy Football Strategy: Building a Winner From Every Spot in 10-Team Leagues

    Kevin Roberts
    2 Sep 2015 | 10:27 am
Fantasy football leagues with eight teams are easy. Fantasy football leagues with 14+ teams can be a nightmare. Ten and 12 team leagues? That’s the sweet spot. If you’re feeling uneasy about your upcoming 10 or 12-team league draft, you shouldn’t. You just need a sound strategy, pick up value when it’s staring you in the face and make sure you stay balanced. Simple advice for a simple game, folks. But sometimes it’s not easy to follow, or you just don’t want to. Taking Aaron Rodgers right away is more fun. Or splurging for Rob Gronkowski feels like it gives…
  • Amari Cooper, Latavius Murray and the Top Raiders to Draft in Fantasy Football

    Kevin Roberts
    2 Sep 2015 | 7:05 am
Raider Nation hasn’t had much to be excited about in the past few years. They began 2014 on an 0-4 run when their coach was fired, then they went on to go 0-10 and finish up at 3-13. New coach Jack Del Rio is expected to bring a calming effect to the team and get the team at least headed in the right direction. Bill Musgrave is the new offensive coordinator and he is expecting to put points on the board. Just at first glance the Raiders are young in particular at the skill positions, but very well could offer some real upside in 2015 fantasy football leagues: Derek Carr on the Rise? Derek…

    Kevin Roberts

Honestly, I wasn’t going to do a piece on Aaron Rodgers this year. Because he’s Aaron Rodgers. He needs to introduction, and he surely needs no defense when it comes to his production in fantasy football. Seriously, we’re talking about a guy who has finished first or second among fantasy quarterbacks every year but one since taking over as the starter of the Green Bay Packers in 2008. The only year he wasn’t a top-two guy, he missed seven games with a broken collarbone. And the summa bitch still finished inside the top-25. He even came back in week 17 and tossed a…
  • Should You Draft DeMarco Murray in Fantasy Football?

    Kevin Roberts
    1 Sep 2015 | 2:57 pm
I’m not sure what the fuss is against DeMarco Murray in fantasy football. The dude was the #1 fantasy running back a year ago, and now he’s in a more potent offensive system, yet he’s been downgraded? Don’t get me wrong, I get it and I’m also totally fine with it. For two reasons, really. First, I get that Murray ran behind one of the best o-lines ever in Dallas last year. I get that he played a full 16 game season for the first time in his NFL career last year. But the guy was awesome. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry despite running the ball a staggering 393…

You need a tight end in fantasy football and don’t want to spend a first round pick on Rob Gronkowski. You also think the second or even third round is too rich for Jimmy Graham. Great, join the rest of your fantasy brethren in deciding what the hell to do at tight end. It’s pretty simple this year: take The Great, or wait. The Great is The Gronk and maybe to a lesser extent Graham, but the saying rings true, even if you just heard it now. If you can’t get one of two tight ends that appear to be elite and actually safe, there may not be a point in reaching for any other…

  • NEWS: Randall Cobb only has sprained AC joint in shoulder?

Randall Cobb 8/31/2015: Randall Cobb reportedly escaped this weekend with just a sprained AC joint in his shoulder, which likely means he will be day-to-day heading into Week 1. Guessing this far away from Week 1 kickoff is tough, but if forced to guess, we’d say he plays Week 1. Either way, Cobb owners can rest easy that the injury is considered relatively minor considering. Davante Adams is set to have a big 2015 fantasy season. Had Cobb suffered a season-ending injury, one of Ty Montgomery or Jeff Janis would have seen a huge bump in fantasy value. Keep both receivers on your mind…

Some Observations In Week 3 Of The 2015 NFL Preseason Martavis Bryant is still a stud despite being suspended for four games Yes, his 138 yards and a TD, and some dominate looking play all in all, reminds us all that he could be back to being a breakout performer five weeks into the season. • The Key to Winning FanDuel GPP Games

    Lockdown Corner
    16 Aug 2015 | 8:22 pm
Look for more than just upside when creating your GPP Lineups Many daily fantasy sports players prefer looking for players with a high upside or a high-variance approach when playing in tournaments, for a number of reasons.  For starters, only elite lineups win GPP games, so finding players with a high ceiling is a smart move. GPP winners on FanDuel and DraftKings never have a bad player in the lineup, so stacking your lineup with guys that go off is essential. But at what costs should you seek upside? How much risk are we willing to take in order to get this high upside? Should you look to…

The Flyers have a great matchup in Buffalo tonight.  A team that lets up the most goals per game. The Blues have been really hot lately, they are 12-2-1 in their last 15 games.  They have a high powered offense and some good top lines. Anaheim should be well rested, since they haven’t played since Thursday.  Today they host the Washington…

Because of the limited selection of players to choose from, the playoffs are likely to continue to be lower scoring than the regular season contests. This means you should be okay with using some sub-optimal values in your GPP contests in order to get the right combination of high upside plays in…
