I’m a believer in getting the safest, most productive running backs as early as you can in fantasy football drafts. I’m also a believer in taking high upside running backs later in drafts. Whether you roll with the straight up RB-early strategy, the Zero Running Back Theory or find yourself falling somewhere in the middle, you can bite off a piece of logic here, one way or the other. The point, regardless of your strategy, is that there is always some sweet value to be had late in fantasy drafts. You just need to know when and where to look for it. ADP (average draft position) is…

    12. Miami Dolphins Ryan Tannehill quietly put together a borderline top 10 QB season, and Lamar Miller proved he could run the football with some consistency and catch it on occasion in the passing game.  The receivers on this team are young and talented, with high volume option in Jarvis Landry and burners in Kenny Stills and Rishard Matthews. Adding Jordan Cameron only makes it harder for defenses to match up when they want to spread you out. Worth Drafting: Ryan Tannehill will likely be valued lower than he should be, as a later QB1 he’s worth it. • Cowboys RB Joseph Randle getting the majority of first-team reps at OTAs

    28 May 2015 | 12:27 pm
Cowboys' running back Joseph Randle is taking the majority of first-team reps at OTAs. He's already being asked questions about being the starting back in Dallas and replacing DeMarco Murray. "He had a good year last year, and I got to sit back and watch a lot," Randle said, "and I felt like there was a lot of meat left on the bone. I'm going to try to go out there and grind as hard as I can and see which role I end up in." FANTASY ANALYSIS: Randle has by far the most upside in the Cowboys' backfield. Dez Bryant is less than pleased with being slapped with a franchise tag and is yet to sign his tender. He's not with the team and there are no signs that he'll report anytime soon. Since he's technically not under contract, he's not even obligated for mandatory workouts. Bryant's agent and the team have reportedly not had any "meaningful discussions" concerning a new contract. It looks like Bryant will more than likely be playing out the season on the franchise tag. The two sides have until July 15 to get a long-term deal done. FANTASY ANALYSIS: A disgruntled Bryant could be trouble for the…

Hoyer started with the first team and then Mallett swapped in his place. Mallett said he's "just ready to go". Hoyer is no stranger to quarterback competitions, he's been in one pretty much every year of his career, whether it be for a starting or backup job. "I've been through it before," Hoyer said. • Cleveland Browns: Isaiah Crowell Running With Starters in OTAs

    Kevin Roberts
    27 May 2015 | 11:35 am
It remains to be determined if Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell can build on his 2014 success as a rookie. For the moment, it looks like he’s being given every chance to do just that, as he started Cleveland’s OTAs with the first team offense on Tuesday afternoon. Crowell enjoyed a mixed rookie season in 2014 as he dealt with fumble woes and lost touches to fellow rookie Terrance West, but still found a way to amass 607 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. While Crowell flashed feature back ability last year, he only did so in spurts and struggled badly down the stretch…
  • Atlanta Falcons: Devonta Freeman Running With First Team

    Kevin Roberts
    27 May 2015 | 11:26 am
Devonta Freeman is going to get a chance to win the starting running back job in Atlanta in 2015. At least, that’s what it looks like after Freeman opened OTAs as the first string tailback. Rookie running back Tevin Coleman worked with the second team, and though he’s firmly expected to nip at the heels of Freeman all summer, it’s absolutely worth noting that he hasn’t been handed anything just yet. Freeman is the inferior talent, but he is entering his second season and has a leg up after putting up 473 total yards and two touchdowns last season as a rookie. While…
  • 2015 Fantasy Football Sleepers: 10 Running Backs That Could Be Steals

    Kevin Roberts
    27 May 2015 | 7:50 am
I’m a believer in getting the safest, most productive running backs as early as you can in fantasy football drafts. I’m also a believer in taking high upside running backs later in drafts. Whether you roll with the straight up RB-early strategy, the Zero Running Back Theory or find yourself falling somewhere in the middle, you can bite off a piece of logic here, one way or the other. The point, regardless of your strategy, is that there is always some sweet value to be had late in fantasy drafts. You just need to know when and where to look for it. ADP (average draft position) is…
  • 2015 Fantasy Football Draft Advice: Should You Grab Running Backs Early?

    Kevin Roberts
    27 May 2015 | 7:23 am
For years, fantasy football was all about the running back. Just take a journey back to 2002 when Ricky Williams had his career year with over 1,800 rushing yards. He was first overall in fantasy rankings with 319 fantasy points. LaDainian Tomlinson was the top guy the next year, too (343 points), and we saw a running back in the top spot in 2005, 2006 and 2010, as well. Every other season between 2002 and now, though, has been someone other than a running back. The days of absolutely having to draft the top stud rusher are gone. It’s more of a passing league and even with teams like…
  • 2015 Fantasy Football Draft Strategy: Should You Draft a Quarterback in Round One?

    Kevin Roberts

It’s fantasy football mock draft season, and if you’re late for the party, let me be the first to tell you the beer is warm and the naked guy already jumped in the pool. Translation: It’s almost June and you better start prepping for the 2015 fantasy season if you’re serious about winning. We take care of half the trouble for you, as we’re looking at fantasy football drafts from the inside out. There will be mocks a plenty, but a big thing I want to dive into this summer is situational mocking. Can you go RB/RB early in this year’s draft and still make it…

Adrian Peterson 5/25/2015: Adrian Peterson is expected to be a no-show for the start of Vikings Organized Team Activities (OTAs), which would cost him a $250,000 workout bonus. Mandatory minicamp will be June 16-18. No matter where Peterson plays in 2015, and it’s looking like he will be in Minnesota, he has top 1-5RB upside. Joique Bell 5/18/2015: Joique Bell, a sleeper of ours last season, could be undervalued again heading into 2015. Why? Well, first of all, he is going to be 29 here in August (keep that in mind, dynasty owners)… second, the team just drafted a decent rookie rusher in Ameer Abdullah. While his dynasty outlook isn’t strong, I still really like Bell, like I did last year, heading into 2015. Last year, he ran the ball 223 times for 860 yards, 7TDs, and he also… Read Spotlight The post Spotlight: Joique Bell appeared first on Fantasy Football Starters.

Hope everybody’s Valentine’s Day Games went well, and you won some money on FanDuel and DraftKings.  Today we have a small slate of games so options will be limited.  Im looking to target players from the Flyers , Blues, and Ducks Anaheim Ducks. The Flyers have a great matchup in Buffalo tonight.  A team that lets up the most goals per game. The Blues have been really hot lately, they are 12-2-1 in their last 15 games.  They have a high powered offense and some good top lines. Anaheim should be well rested, since they haven’t played since Thursday.  Today they host the Washington…

Last week scores were pretty low.  Teams are better and know how to show guys down, like Calvin Johnson last week.  Usually the winning scores in the millionaire pools or most pools for that matter are 270-330 ish give or take.  The winning score in last week’s Saturday Million was 149.66. Because of the limited selection of players to choose from, the playoffs are likely to continue to be lower scoring than the regular season contests. This means you should be okay with using some sub-optimal values in your GPP contests in order to get the right combination of high upside plays in…

  • Early Fantasy Sleepers for 2015 – Part One – RBs

    14 May 2015 | 12:59 pm
by Utter-Fantasy Writer & Illustrator & Doug Bowles The NFL Draft has come and gone, and in its wake, along with a wild free agency, has brought dramatic changes to depth charts. Many new faces to the NFL will be obvious 2015 fantasy draft picks in September, such as Oakland’s WR Amari Cooper, San Diego’s RB Melvin Gordon and Chicago’s WR Kevin White. I have often said however, that almost anyone can intelligently draft the first 4-5 rounds of a fantasy. The real work is keenly navigating through the later rounds and picking up fantasy sleepers that other owners…

Are They In A Good Place Or Bad? by Utter-Fantasy writer & illustrator Doug Bowles Sometime before the 2015 NFL Draft, I wrote an article about where I would like to see Rookie WR Amari Cooper get drafted, regardless of the draft order. Here were my top 3 favorite landing spots for him…#1- Atlanta…what a 3 receiver set this would be…Julio, Roddy White and Amari Cooper! (and all 3 Alabama alums)…#2- Baltimore…WR Torrey Smith left for the 49ers, so they were in need of a top wide receiver, WR Steve Smith is a year older and QB Flacco can throw a ball 80…

by Utter-Fantasy writer & illustrator Doug Bowles MIAMI – WR Jarvis Landry / WR Kenny Stills (Medium hit) – The Dolphins selected WR DeVanta Parker in the 1st Round, with the 14th overall selection. (Miami had perhaps more pressing needs to address in Round One, but Parker’s talent may have been too irresistible to pass up.) Johnson was the 3rd overall ranked WR by Utter-Fantasy in this year’s draft. Parker’s selection doesn’t hurt any WR on Miami’s roster in particular, it simply deletes everyone’s fantasy value. by Utter-Fantasy writer & illustrator Doug Bowles HC Jeff Fisher surprised everyone on day one of the NFL Draft by selecting RB Todd Gurley with the Rams #10 overall pick of the 1st round. Running back Zac Stacy was more than surprised by the selection…he was “pissed”, and immediately requested to be traded. RB Stacy, who was 3rd on the St. Louis depth chart after having entered the 2014 season as the Ram’s starter, suddenly became inconsequential. His request was granted BTW, and Stacy is now a Jet. Many veteran players’ fantasy stock took big hits this…
