If the Falcons don't change their backfield during free agency or through the draft, it looks like second-year runner Devonta Freeman will be their lead back next season. That's a role for which he said he's more than ready. "Personally, I want to be the man," Freeman said recently. "I want to be the guy. I want to make my own name with the Atlanta Falcons. I want to go really, really far. I want to set the bar high. I just want to win a Super Bowl and maybe be the MVP one day. You just never know. I feel like I'm hungrier right now. • Broncos QB Peyton Manning passes physical, signs restructured 2015 contract

    5 Mar 2015 | 11:19 am
Peyton Manning has cleared the final hurdle that stood between him and playing football next fall: He passed his team physical on Thursday. Thus, it's officially official: Manning will play for the Denver Broncos in 2015. After the physical, Manning signed his restructured contract. The details of that pact were hammered out on Wednesday as the player and the team agreed to take $4 million off of Manning's $19 million deal. He can still earn that money back if he makes the 2016 Super Bowl and wins it. He'll earn $2 million for each feat accomplished. FANTASY ANALYSIS: So, that's finally done.

    5 Mar 2015 | 10:59 am
It appears the Chiefs are ready to move on from wide receiver Dwayne Bowe just two years into a five-year, $56 milliion contract. According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs are trying to orchestrate a trade for Bowe and if that falls through, the Chiefs are expected to simply release him. Bowe is slated to make $10.75 million next season and count $14 million against the cap. If Kansas City designates him as a post-June 1 cut, the Chiefs will take on only $3 million in dead money. Bowe, 30, has accumulated just 1,427 receiving yards through 30 games since signing his big contract in…

The post LeSean McCoy (RB) appeared first on Fantasy Football Xtreme. The Eagles hit the NFL and dynasty owners with another lightning bolt by trading LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso! For the second consecutive year Chip Kelly has shipped out a dynamic offensive talent, only this time he got some talent in return instead of outright releasing a player (as he did with DeSean Jackson). When the news about the trade first broke my initial reaction was to move LeSean McCoy up in all the rankings. What was not to like? A brilliant defensive-minded head…

He suffered a torn meniscus after four games in the 2013 season and required a second surgery to correct the injury. As a result he appeared in only 25 games for the Gators. As a result he may be flying under the radar for fantasy owners. He accomplished this with a patchwork of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tom Savage, Case Keenum and Ryan Mallett at quarterback. 5 Mar 2015 | 12:35 pm
I'm sure the Sharks here know this and can help me out.  I understand that teams need to get their cap number down by March 10th so a lot of veterans get released early and I also get why some players can be cut now with the June 1st designation so they can be a part of free agency now and not be behind the process.  What I don't get is why can players that are cut start signing with teams now but actual legitimate UFA's have to wait until free agency starts on March 10th?  Darnell Docket is a 49er already but Suh has to wait 5 more days (just as an example).

    4 Mar 2015 | 2:27 am
The 2015 fantasy football outlook for the Arizona Cardinals stars is cloudy considering the bulk of the team’s talent is on the defensive side of the ball. Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Ellington and Carson Palmer all need a healthy 2015 to climb out of the fantasy basement. General manager Steve Keim and head coach Bruce Arians are the best things going for the Cardinals' beleaguered offense—ranked 24th in NFL scoring (23rd adjusted for standard fantasy). That’s why president Michael Bidwill locked both of them up through 2018, according to Darren Urban of AZ Cardinals.com.

Currently he is SP 26 / o-rank 97 @ yahoo, which at first glance seems ok, solid/safe but not a ton of value here. I don't think there is much buzz about him though so I could see that o-rank falling and him slipping in some drafts come end of March.   What caught my eye though is his transformation during the 2nd half of last season. His BB% in 2014 was a personal best as was his SWk%, and in the 2nd half he got his BB/9 down to 2.7 (which is huge as he's never been below 3.4 in a season)…

  • Dallas Cowboys Stars Dez Bryant, DeMarco Murray to Hit Free Agency

View image | gettyimages.com With the 2014 NFL season coming to an end, the Dallas Cowboys have two major issues which risk the continuity of their offense: both wide receiver Dez Bryant and running back DeMarco Murray are going to be hitting the free agency market this coming offseason.  Will Dallas be able to retain one or possibly both of these play-makers and remain a top 10 NFL offense? Bryant and Murray are truly the heart and soul of the Cowboys’ offense.  Bryant has had over 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns each of the last three seasons, for a total of 5,424 yards…

The best quarterback in NFL history turns 39 in March, so obviously the big question on everyone’s mind is whether or not he will return for more in 2015.  No one thought Manning had any intention of retiring at the end of the 2014 season, but then it was revealed that he had been playing on a torn right quad for the final month (or more) of the season.  Can Peyton's…

  • Bears looking to move Marshall

    Adam Inman, Twitter Handle: @adaminman
    5 Mar 2015 | 1:24 pm
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Bears are attempting to trade Brandon Marshall for a mid-round pick. The emergence of Alshon Jeffery and Marshall’s $7.5 million salary have apparently made him expendable. Marshall may become intriguing for teams that are missing a true possession Wide Receiver. If Marshall is cut or traded Chicago may look for a replacement in the draft as Marquess Wilson failed to impress in spot duty last year.
  • Dwayne Bowe release forthcoming

    Adam Inman, Twitter Handle: @adaminman
    5 Mar 2015 | 1:15 pm
According to Ian Rapoport on Twitter the Kansas City Chiefs and Dwayne Bowe are likely headed for a divorce in the near future. Bow is due over $10 million next season and the Chiefs Wide Receiving corp has been awful for two straight seasons now (the Chiefs Wide Receivers accounted for ZERO receiving touchdowns last season). Because of his size, Bowe will likely get another shot in the NFL at a far lower salary.

Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson singled, doubled and scored a run in Wednesay’s opener. Pederson is angling for the starting center fielder job and with enough at-bats, should be good for a 20/20 season. We are projecting 21 homers and 22 steals.

If the Bulls were out of contention I highly doubt that we would even be talking about Rose returning. While he could be back to help out in the playoffs, he won’t be back to help out your fantasy teams. It is safe to drop him in most leagues.

  • Eagles Replacing LeSean McCoy With Committee Approach?

    Kimberly Hale
    5 Mar 2015 | 11:57 am
With one of the most shocking moves since they released DeSean Jackson, sources have confirmed that the Philadelphia Eagles have traded their three-time Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso. Head coach Chip Kelly will be reunited with his former playmaking Oregan linebacker in Alonso, but it also means that Kelly will need to fill the void left behind by McCoy. In a down season, McCoy still rushed for over 1,300 yards and had five touchdowns. At only 26 years old with very little injury history, his NFL future is still very bright.

The Green Bay Packers and their outstanding impending free agent Randall Cobb are both in danger of losing if they continue on their current path leading up to the opening of the free agent market. It has been reported that Cobb’s agent rejected a five-year $8-9 million annual deal from the Packers, who only hold exclusive negotiating rights until Saturday at 4 p.m. ET – which is when Cobb’s agent expects more lucrative deals to start rolling in from other teams. Cobb is the top wide receiver on the open market and with lots of salary-cap space, it is expected that the Oakland Raiders…

Manning will be making $15 million in base salary, which is down from the $19 million that he was expected to earn. The only thing left was for Manning to pass a physical examination and with that now completed, he’s locked and loaded for the 2015 NFL season. The Chicago Bears appear to be through fooling around. As stout as the talent has looked on their roster the past few years, it hasn’t accumulated to much success and now has the new regime shopping stud wide receiver, Brandon Marshall. Per the Chicago Tribune, Marshall is no longer seen as Chicago’s go-to wide receiver and could be had for as little as a mid-round draft pick. Marshall, soon to be 31 years old, had his worst year since becoming a full-time starter in 2014. It’s worth arguing that most of his struggles were attributed to numerous injuries, but his inability…

The San Francisco 49ers are in an interesting spot. They’re just two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance and have made it to the NFC title game in three out of the last four years. They have a new head coach and suffered a drop off in 2014, but they still appear to be built well from the ground up on both sides of the ball. It’s not crazy at all to think the Niners could be right back in the thick of the NFC playoff chase, but there’s also no denying some very visible flaws this roster holds.
